Adult Ministry Teams

Becoming a part of a ministry is extremely important because it gives you the opportunity to exercise your spiritual gifts and it allows you to get to know some of your fellow church members.  Once you have completed the Discovery Ministry seminar, a consultant will assist you in finding a ministry at Saint Paul  where you can best serve. Saint Paul offers a number of adult and youth ministries that help us fulfill the five functions of the church, which are evangelism, worship, fellowship, service and discipleship.  These ministry teams desire and welcome your participation.  

Admissions Ministry - This ministry welcomes new members into the Saint Paul family.  Ministry members receive vital information from new members, teach new member orientation classes and sponsor an annual New Members’ Banquet.

Ambassadors for Christ Ministry - The purpose of this ministry is “to win souls for Christ through sharing the gospel to every unsaved person in our church and community.”  Members of this ministry speak with perspective members after the invitation has been extended to present the gospel and lead new members in prayer to receive Christ.

Beautification Ministry - This ministry team serves to beautify and organize the church buildings, rooms and grounds so that God's temple is clean and functional in His sight and to His followers.

Blessed Business of the Church - The mission of this ministry team is to empower God's people to develop and maintain businesses, and encourage economic growth.

Broadcast Ministry - This ministry is responsible for Saint Paul’s live radio broadcast every Sunday morning from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on WGIV 1370 AM.  Ministry members are also responsible for all sound, video and audio recording for all services.  The Broadcast ministry duplicates and sells tapes of worship services.

Chosen Vessels - This Ministry is devoted to helping women grow spiritually. Sisters in Christ; chosen to stand, chosen to grow, chosen to serve and chosen to share.  

Consumer Food Ministry - This ministry operates a food pantry and provide food for families in need.

Deaconess Ministry - This ministry assists new disciples with their attire for the water of baptism, the deacons with administering communion. The coordinate semi-annual baby dedication workshops, in addition to serving during the Baby Dedication ceremony. Members of this group are appointed.

Deacons/Deacon Family Ministry - The Deacon Family Ministry is a plan through which the deacons partner with the pastor in ministering to the needs of each church family. The church family is designated as "The Tribe of Judah", grouped geographically and assigned to a specific deacon. Members of this group are appointed.

Discovery Ministry - This ministry conducts seminars to help church members discover and explore their spiritual gifts, passion  and personal style.  Seminar attendees receive a consultation to help them find a place of service within the church.

Finance/Finance Receiving Ministry - Members of this ministry are responsible to the congregation for the financial management of the church. The are responsible for receiving, counting and depositing all tithes and offerings collected during worship services. Members of this group are appointed.

F.L.A.M.E. - This ministry team provides leadership for strengthening and enriching relationships between married couples.

Hospitality Ministry - This ministry provides hospitality to members and guests.  Ministry members serve as hostesses at church receptions, luncheons and dinners and are responsible for providing a meal to bereaved families.

HOST Ministry - This ministry services as an effective communication vehicle for Saint Paul.   The HOST ministry was “created to HELP ORGANIZE our church sign-ups, assist in SERVICING events  or functions and communicate information for TRAINING.” This ministry is prominently located in the church vestibule following worship services.

Jewels of Jehovah Prayer Ministry - This ministry prayerfully intercedes for individuals desiring prayer.  This ministry regularly prays for the pastor, church family and community.

Media Technology Ministry - This ministry provides communication and technology needs of the church. Its purpose is to plan and integrate all computer, audio, video and lighting related functions within the church.

Medical Team Ministry - This ministry provides First Aid for members and guests during worship services and funerals.

Men’s Fellowship Ministry - This ministry is responsible for security and parking for members and friends of Saint Paul during all church functions.  The Men’s Fellowship serves breakfast each Sunday morning and prepares meals for special church functions.

Missionary Ministry - This ministry seeks to place “Christ in Every Home” through witnessing and meeting the needs of members and those outside our congregation.  The missionaries participate in several local, state and national organizations.  There are seven adult (Seniors) and one Young Adult groups.

Music Ministry - This ministry communicates the gospel of Jesus Christ through hymns, anthems, spirituals and contemporary gospel music. The music department includes the Adult Mass Choir, Praise Ensemble, Male Chorus, Youth Mass Choir, Youth Praise Ensemble and the gospel choirs of Saint Paul who lead the congregation in short, long and common meter singing (a cappella) during worship services.

Newsletter Ministry - This ministry is responsible for the bimonthly publication of Saint Paul’s newsletter “The Good News”.  Members of this ministry write and edit articles pertaining to Saint Paul’s ministries and members.

Pauline Council - This group serves as the governing Board of Directors of St. Paul Baptist Church. There duties include implementing the policies and procedures of the church. Members of this group are appointed.

Rose of Sharon Ministry - This organization ministers to senior members of Saint Paul through regular visitation, day trips and other hands on activities.

Samson Ministry (Men’s Ministry) - This ministry seeks to minister to the men of Saint Paul by addressing issues that are important to African-American Christian men.  It helps men develop leadership skills and develop stronger relationships within the church and community.

Scholarship Ministry - This ministry is responsible for leading the congregation in awarding yearly scholarships for deserving high school graduates and college students in our congregation.

Shepherd Ministry - This ministry maintains a clothes closet for members and non-members in need of clothing.  It is also responsible for collecting and distributing school supplies for children in need.

Sunday School University - This ministry is responsible for teaching God’s Word (Logos) to all.  Provides individuals with the truths and doctrines of the Christian faith.  Makes God’s Word relevant to the issues that affect Christians today. Classes are available for persons of all ages—18 months to adults.

TLC Support Ministry - This ministry provides “tender loving care” for terminally ill members and their families.  This includes respite care, an “adopt-a-family” program and a “help-line” for participating families.

Transportation Ministry - This ministry is responsible for providing a way to and from church for members and non-members.  Members of this ministry must have a Commercial Driver’s License.

Untainted Love - This ministry serves as a “Safe Circle” for victims of domestic violence and individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS that fosters trust, nurtures with spiritual support and encourages empowerment. A place where individuals can connect when they are in need of safety or support, and a place where they can go to receive the love of the community and connect with other resources. Members of this group are appointed.

Ushers Ministry - Members of this ministry are responsible for greeting and welcoming people as they enter worship services, assisting with seating and receiving the tithes and offering for all services.

Visitors Fellowship Ministry - This ministry greets members and visitors prior to worship services;  are responsible for providing visitors with pertinent information about Saint Paul.  

We Care Ministry - This ministry provides limited respite service to families of sick and shut-in disciples. Ministry members serve the congregation by sitting with shut-in members to allow their caregivers an opportunity to go to worship
